- Post ingredient and packaging receipts, issues and returns. Match entries to warehouse vouchers.
- Allocate materials, labour and factory overheads to production orders and finished products.
- Compare actual consumption with approved recipes and usage standards. Investigate variances with production staff.
- Reconcile work in progress and finished goods at period end. Check inventory count results against the accounts.
- Explain changes in unit costs and keep calculations linked to their source records.
What you’ll bring
- Accounting or finance training relevant to manufacturing cost work.
- Knowledge of cost allocation, inventory valuation and production records.
- Spreadsheet and accounting software skills for reconciling quantities and values.
- A methodical approach to investigating discrepancies and protecting cost information.
- Ability to explain findings to warehouse and production colleagues. Food manufacturing experience is an advantage.
